What is Naturopathy

Naturopathy - Aims to support and encourage the body to heal itself through the medicinal power of nature using nutrition (food as medicine), flower essences and herbal medicines. Naturopathic medicine is an art, a science, a philosophy using modern, traditional, scientific and practical methods to restore overall health.

The six principles of healing that form the foundation of naturopathic medicine include:

  • First, Do no Harm - Primum no nocere
  • The Healing Power of Nature - Vis medicatrix naturae
  • Identify and Treat the Cause - Tolle causum
  • Treat the Whole Person - In pertubato animo sicut in corpore sanitas esse non potest
  • Doctor as Teacher – Docere
  • Prevention is the Best Cure - Principiis obsta: sero medicina curatur

"The natural system for curing disease is based on a return to nature in regulating the diet, breathing, exercising, bathing and the employment of various forces to eliminate the poisonous products in the system, and so raise the vitality of the patient to a proper standard of health."
